The Maria Vest - CAL with Furls Crochet

@furlscrochet

I'm so excited to be hosting this month's CAL with Furls Crochet.

When I signed up at the beginning of 2020 to do this in August, there was
no telling what this year was going to be like.

I'm grateful that I was able to crochet the days away in isolation.  It kept my mind sane and kept me busy.  I'm also grateful for the time I was able to spend with my Grandmother over the month of June.  She lived a very healthy 88 years of life. Nothing stopped her.  She lived on her own, took the bus to visit friends, did her own grocery shopping, and went every month for a manicure and pedicure (even in the Winter!). The last 4 weeks of her life were taken by an aggressive liver cancer.
I know she would of lived past one hundred if this disease never existed.

I named this pattern “The Maria Vest,” after my Grandmother.  During the last month I spent with her, I started and finished this vest.  It’s very special to me and
I hope you all enjoy making it as much as I did.

The Maria Vest crochet pattern has simple stitches that leave a gorgeous detail in every row.
It’s a perfect beginner pattern that includes repeated stitches and mindless crocheting – the perfect project while you watch your favourite show.

This pattern will be memorized quite easily after the first few rows
making this such a fun and easy Summer project.

I used the Furls Streamline - Ergonomic Wooden Crochet Hook in Teak.
I love these hooks so much!
They are so lightweight,  and I feel like I crochet so much faster with them.

Check out these amazing hooks HERE.

This is an easy detailed crochet vest that will be a perfect addition to your wardrobe. Layer it over a tank top and shorts, a bathing suit, or a t-shirt and jeans.  The Maria Vest is perfect for a day at the beach or a Summer night out with your friends.

Before I go....I know you've been eyeing the yarn I used!

This gorgeous yarn is from Dover Street Supply Co. based out of New Hampshire.
You can find unique hand dyed yarn from the very talented Steph Lewis, owner and operator of Dover Street Supply Co
Check out all her gorgeous yarn HERE.

Can't wait to see your "Maria Vest"
