I love making bulky granny squares, and this one is just in time for February...but honestly, it’s perfect for any time of year.
Switch up the colours or keep it classic; this cozy, chunky heart granny square is incredibly easy and totally beginner-friendly. It works up fast thanks to the bulky weight yarn, making it a great option for quick projects or last-minute gifts.
I filmed a full VIDEO TUTORIAL showing you exactly how to make this Chunky Heart Granny Square from start to finish.
Don’t let the heart shape fool you, this pattern is very beginner friendly and simply involves basic stitches with a few colour changes. At its core, it’s just a simple bulky granny square.
TIP: You can also double or triple strand worsted weight yarn to achieve the perfect bulky weight match.
Ready? Let’s get started! The full written pattern is below, but feel free to follow along with the video tutorial for a full overview of how the square comes together and how I weave in all my ends.
