We Want The Chunk Sweater

Isn't this yarn just gorgeous!
I'm completely obsessed with this neon colour and I had to
make the chunkiest of all chunky sweaters with it.

It's guaranteed to make any project super fast.
Super bulky and available in so many colours,
at 100% wool it will soon become your new fav!

*Ribbing optional

This will be the fastest sweater you'll ever make.
You can make it ANY length and ANY size you want!

Notes before you begin:
-the initial chain will determine how wide your front/back panels will be.  Hold it up against you to get the perfect width before you begin the body of the sweater.
-To alter the length of the sweater, add more rows
-you can use any Super Bulky yarn you choose, just check your gauge.
-this sweater is made up of 4 separate panels: front panel, back panel, and 2 sleeves.
-the panels/sleeves are all worked in the same stitch: Extended Single Crochet in the Back Loop Only.

OTH Crochet Nook Pattern: We Want the Chunk Sweater

Hook size: 9.00mm (Furls Crochet - Cookies N' Cream Swirl)

I used:

10 x  Tuff Puff Yarn in Chartreuse

4" x 4" = 6 sts x 4 rows

CH - Chain
SC - Single Crochet
ESC - Extended Single Crochet
BLO - Back Loop Only
SL ST - Slip Stich

Extended Single Crochet:
Insert hook from front to back through stitch to be worked, YO, pull through, YO and draw through first loop only, YO and draw through both loops on hook

The instructions are written for size S/M.  Adjust the width of your initial chain to determine how wide the sweater will be. Adjust the amount of rows completed to make your sweater longer.

BACK and FRONT (make alike):
Ch 23.

Row 1: Work ESC  in every stitch until end. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1. ESC in BLO until the end. Turn.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2 until you reach desired length.
(I completed 18 rows)
SL ST twice, fasten off.

Sleeves - make 2:
Ch 14

Row 1: Work ESC until end. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1. 2ESC in BLO in the first stitch, ESC in BLO until the 2nd last stitch, 2ESC in BLO in the last stitch.Turn.

Row 3: Repeat Row 2

**repeat Row 2 to make sleeve as wide as needed, measure your bicep to determine how wide you need the sleeve to be**

Row 4: Ch 1. 1 ESC BLO in each st to end of row. Turn.
**Repeat Row 4 to determine length of sleeve, I made a 3/4 sleeve**
(I completed 18 rows)
SL ST twice, fasten off.

Diagram 1: Lay front panel, back panel, and sleeves as shown below.
Seam sleeves only.
(Neck line is meant to be wide, and will be worked after you have seamed it together.)

Diagram 2:  Fold sweater in half and seam under sleeves and along sides as shown. Turn inside out.

Diagram 1:

Diagram 2:
Attach yarn anywhere along the neck line.
Now working in the round:
Round 1: SC once around, SL ST in first to join, ch 1
Round 2: repeat row above
Round 3: repeat row above.
Fasten off.
*you can continue more rounds to have a higher neckline, I wanted mine to hang off my shoulder.

And that's it!
Your We Want The Chunk Sweater is done!

I'd love to see yours!
