Mini Hat Ornament

I just had to make a mini hat for my tree.

How cute is this!?

This pattern is very easy and will take you no more than 30 minutes.

Grab some scrap yarn and let's get started.

Notes before you begin:

-the ribbing is made first and slip stitched together

-the rest of the hat is crocheted in the round and seamed/cinched at the top

-the pom pom is made separately and attached to the top of the hat

-I've added photos for all the steps described above

OTH Crochet Nook Pattern: Mini Hat Ornament

Yarn: Any worsted or cotton yarn will do, scrap pieces

Hook: 4.5mm

Scissors

Darning needle.

Ch 4.

Row 1: SC in the 2nd chain from the hook, Sc in the next 2. Ch 1. Turn.

Row 2: SC BLO in the next 3 stitches. Ch 1. Turn. (3)

Row 3 - 11: repeat Row 2

*sl st ribbing together

*now work in the round

Round 1: SC around, sl st to join. Ch 1. (15)

Round 2 - 6: repeat round 1

*weave around the top of the hat, cinch closed, double knot, cut off loose ends, turn inside out.

Mini Pom Pom:

Step 1: Using 2 fingers, wrap yarn around 20(ish) times, gently slip off fingers

Step 2: Tie double knot in the middle

Step 3: cut top end and bottom end

Step 4: Fluff yarn and use 2 long ends to attach to top of hat.
